After months, too many months, I am dedicating myself to blogging again, at least once a week, hopefully more. It’s been quite a busy several months, lots of weddings and celebrations. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel a quite lot this past year, during my slow time of Aug, Sept and early Oct. Although I missed my significant other (O’Brian) and wished he could experience some of these places with me I couldn’t pass up on the travel opportunites I had in 2009 (nor would he have wanted me to). I’m making up for lost time it seems….since moving to Jamaica nearly 5 years ago, I’ve done very little traveling (next to none except going to visit family in Minneapolis), and the opportunities just came about in 2009.
Thankfully everywhere I went I was able to stay with friends or family and I was able to travel on miles for much of it.
Starting in late August I went to go visit my first niece in Minneapolis- what a wonderful thing. I can’t wait to see the the beautiful little girl again! I am her favorite auntie afterall.

Early September I took a weekend trip to visit some great friends in San Antonio! That was a treat- then back to my family in Minneapolis.

From Minneapolis, I left to go visit my youngest sister who was studying in Scotland on the same program I attended 10 years ago. We also got a great deal to go to Ireland so we spent 5 days driving around the west coast of beautiful Ireland. Going back to Scotland made me remember how much I missed it! Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities in the world.

Then back to Jamaica and off to a weekend trip to Portland, Jamaica for a dear friends 40th birthday celebration. How relaxing. This was the first trip I have taken since being in Jamaica where I wasn’t checking my email almost daily.
Lastly, in early December I was able go visit my youngest brother who is stationed in North Carolina. He had just arrived back from Kuwait, and I hadn’t seen him in nearly two years! He’s now deployed to Haiti, and I’m sure he’s doing his best to do anything he can help recovery from the tragedy.

Keep an eye out because over the next few weeks I’ll be posting pictures from my November, December and January weddings!
