Thank you Mary & Jeff!

Mary and Jeff were married just yesterday surrounded by friends and family. The Bride looked beautiful (the Groom was quite handsome too), and a good time was had by all. Mary fell in love with the Jade roses that were special ordered for the table arrangements as well as her bouquet, they were perfect! Jeff & Mary had quite the generous group as well- instead of clinking glasses for the Bride & Groom to kiss, guests had to donate money for a local school.

Below are some of my very amateur pictures, I’ll post more once I get the good, professional ones. :)

Congrats Michelle & Tim!

Tim and Michelle were married on January 17, 2010 at Negril Escape. The Bride and Groom both looked stunning and a good time was had by all. They had a great group of people (all 87 of them, including Michelle’s 94 year old Grandmother), and they had such fun dancing to Front Page reggae band and later the DJ who “whooped it up.” Even a little sprinkle of rain didn’t stop this group (it just gave them a 5 minute cool down)!

Tim and Michelle also brought down with them a great photographer from my home state of Minnesota- Joe Dickie of Generation Photography. Joe, it was great working with you, can’t wait to do it again soon!!

Below are some pics from the wedding- to see the whole slideshow from the wedding click here.

Thanks Michlle & Tim for letting me be part of your special day! Come back and visit us in Jamaica again soon!!

I am determined to blog again!

After months, too many months, I am dedicating myself to blogging again, at least once a week, hopefully more. It’s been quite a busy several months, lots of weddings and celebrations. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel a quite lot this past year, during my slow time of Aug, Sept and early Oct. I’m making up for lost time it seems….since moving to Jamaica nearly 5 years ago, I’ve done very little traveling (next to none except going to visit family in Minneapolis), and the opportunities just came about in 2009. :) Thankfully everywhere I went I was able to stay with friends or family and I was able to travel on miles for much of it.

Starting in late August I went to go visit my first niece in Minneapolis- what a wonderful thing. I can’t wait to see the the beautiful little girl again! I am her favorite auntie afterall.

Early September I took a weekend trip to visit some great friends in San Antonio! That was a treat- then back to my family in Minneapolis.

From Minneapolis, I left to go visit my youngest sister who was studying in Scotland on the same program I attended 10 years ago. We also got a great deal to go to Ireland so we spent 5 days driving around the west coast of beautiful Ireland. Going back to Scotland made me remember how much I missed it! Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities in the world.

Then back to Jamaica and off to a weekend trip to Portland, Jamaica for a dear friends 40th birthday celebration. How relaxing. This was the first trip I have taken since being in Jamaica where I wasn’t checking my email almost daily.

Lastly, in early December I was able go visit my youngest brother who is stationed in North Carolina. He had just arrived back from Kuwait, and I hadn’t seen him in nearly two years! He’s now deployed to Haiti, and I’m sure he’s doing his best to do anything he can help recovery from the tragedy.

Keep an eye out because over the next few weeks I’ll be posting pictures from my November, December and January weddings!

I just received photos from Sean and Jinger’s wedding in April. It was such a fantastic wedding and the photographer Shane Macomber did a fantastic job capturing the event. After leaving Jamaica Sean & Jinger headed on to a three week honeymoon in Africa…. let me tell you, I was jealous! Thanks for letting me be part of your special day!

Sorry folks, I’ve really been slacking on blogging! I’ve been quite busy with weddings and am hoping to have more pictures to display soon.

I’m quite excited for my next wedding…tomorrow. James and Kay are from England and will be surrounded by their family and friends as they get married on the beach at Llantrassant. I will post pictures as soon as I have them.

Oh what a night!

Stephanie and David’s wedding…what can I say? It was Amazing. They were married at Idle Awhile in Negril, a beautiful beach location. The photographer Zaheer Molu from Toronto captured the entire wedding beautifully. You can see more of his work at: www.zmolu.com. Fun was had by all!
